Before sending us a mail, please read this page, perhaps your questions will be answered this way already! Scroll down and have a look...
For bands / artists only:
Q: I play in a band and would like to ask if Burning Star Records would be interested in signing us.
A: Please always ask yourself if your music is already good enough to obtain a record deal. If you think you can compete with our other artists (in terms of song writing / playing abilities) or if you've got something special and unique to offer, we're happy to get your demo / CD. Nevertheless, we listen to all CD's and tapes we get.
Please note that we get LOTS of them, so be patient if you don't get a message after one or two weeks. We'll get back to you for sure! Please, do only send CD's or cassettes. No DAT's or Mini-Discs. Here's a little checklist; your package should contain at least the following:
- A full contact address (name, address, phone, fax or e-mail)
- A biography of the band
- Everything that is worth to know about your product and band (did you record in a special studio, did you go on tour already and so on)
- At least one photo showing the latest line-up
- If your releases already received some reviews in the press, please also include some copies
Here's the address to send your stuff to:
Burning Star Records, 20 Iakinthou Str., TK 15343, Agia Paraskevi, Athens, Greece
Q: We already recorded a CD on our own and would like to know if Burning Star Records would be interested in distributing it through their mailorder / online shop?
A: If it's not a CD-R and features a pro-printed cover and artwork, it's worth a consideration. But again, can your product compete with the international standards? We don't have the money to feature crappy music, as every article needs place in our warehouse, taxes have to be paid and so on. But if you're really sure that it would be worth distributing it, send a copy along with info about your band and the release to: Burning Star Records, 20 Iakinthou Str., TK 15343, Agia Paraskevi, Athens , Greece [attn. Purchasing Manager].
We'll consider a distribution then and get back to you asap.
For visitors / customers / fans:
Q: Where can I find info about my favourite Burning Star Records bands?
A: You'll find them either on the individual band page (just choose your favourite artist from the list on the main screen) or on their official homepage, which is mentioned in the band's profile that is also accessible from our band pages.
Q: Why does my favourite artist won't play in my area / are gigs cancelled?
A: Sorry, that's not up to us! Burning Star Records doesn't organize tours! Instead, try contacting the tour / booking agency which sets up the tour. They should be able to help you! Anyway, we always try to announce changes on our website. So, check our tour dates from time to time!
Q: How may I contact my favourite band?
A: Have a look at the band's profile on our page. If there's an e-mail mentioned, you might contact them directly. If not, they're receiving too many mails already. But we'll forward your mails if you send them to us. But please consider that not every band has an e-mail address so far, and also we can't give you a guarantee that you'll receive a reply! Also, be sure to have a look at their latest CD's, there might be a contact address printed in the booklet...
Q: I tried to watch a video / listen to a Real Audio File on your website but it doesn't work! What can I do?
A: First of all, be sure to have the latest version of Real Media Player / Windows Media Player / Flash Player installed! Also check if you're using a newer version of Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox as browser.
Q: I have an own website and would like to / already feature your artist(s). Do I get support of Burning Star?
A: Send us your URL and we'll check if it's a page worth supporting. Remember that there's sometimes dozens of unofficial sites, and, as an example, once there's already an official site in English language, it's unlikely that we'll provide support if you're more or less doing the same. Important: We don't allow the use of MP3's which feature a length of more than 30 seconds, Real Audio streaming may be up to a length of 60 seconds, but not longer! And remember, streaming, not downloads! If we discover that your site doesn't follow this guideline, we're forced to let you remove those files. And to those who try to link to our sound files: We'll check this from time to time...
