X-Piral: Parted ways with vocalist
This just came in from X-Piral's camp:
"It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Michael Apostolakis
is no longer part of the X-Piral family. The band does not wish to discuss
the reasons for this decision but we believe it is better to say a few words
about Michael and his years with the band.
Michael was one of the three founding members of X-Piral, together with Nick
and Dimitris, and had been the lead singer of the band ever since. He
managed to record two full length albums, Poison Eyes (2005) and Hunters
(2007), with X-Piral and was completely dedicated to the band. Throughout
those years Michael not only managed to give X-Piral the best and most
valuable parts of his own existence but also became one of the dearest
friends to the rest of the band, a person that all of us are very proud to
know.
We wish Michael the best in his musical quests and good luck with his life
as an individual." |

GREEK ROCK HARD: Concert to support victims of disastrous fires all over Greece
Even if you are not from Greece you probably have heard about the tragic events that took place last couple weeks. Millions of meters of forests burned down, more than 100 villages wiped from the map and way too many human casualties. Greek Rock Hard Magazine organizes a charity concert on order to gather money for all those in pain. Our band Need is participating in this event. We hope to see as many people as possible in the event.

New Signing: Athenian Progressive Metalers Equal Vector joining the family
We are so happy to inform everyone that one of the most impressive and hard working team o musicians from Athens joined our label. Equal Vector featuring one of the most charismatic singers in Greece, Leonidas Hatzimihalis. The band took shape a few years ago and their debut demo attempt was hailed by enthusiasm, even managed to become “Demo Of The Month” in the related column of well known Greek Metal Hammer Magazine. However the band didn’t rush things: they worked nearly two years upon their debut full length release.
Soon this amazing album will be available to all the fans of progressive music. A radio single for “Colors Of Transparency” will be will first be released, an amazing colorful progressive ballad. |

LORDS OF METAL 2007 Dutch Annual National Metal Quiz

"September 30th this year Lords Of Metal E-Zine (the Netherlands) will
celebrate its eight birthday, and as always we do this by organising the
DUTCH ANNUAL NATIONAL METAL QUIZ, which this year again will be held in the
prestigious 013 club in Tilburg, Holland.
Now this Metal Quiz is something like your average Pop Quiz, but in this
case it is all about Metal and beyond. The candidates have to fight their
way through ten rounds filled with dozens of musical and visual fragments
ranging from the most sophisticated symphonic rock up until the most
ferocious black metal and everything in between, and they also must try to
answer some pretty tricky questions in order to make a chance on the title
'Dutch Metal Master 2007' plus the highly original trophy that goes with it.
But that's not all. Due to the generosity of a lot of you guys we where also
able to give a away a lot of CD's, posters, vinyl and other interesting
goodies to the winners and runner up's of the past few quizzes"

What a great time we had in Metal Healing Festival! LUNARSEA appeared on stage on the second day of the festival (alongside bands such as NIGHTRAGE, THE HAUNTED, MOONSORROW) and performed for more than half an hour. Sweet surprise was the first ever live performance of a brand new track! What is left is only to thanks everyone from the organizers team that did their best to help us. Well to our surprise more than 1.400 people took part in the listening of the album! This is a really amazing number considering the size of the band. General rating was also amazing (general vote 8/10).

KINETIC: Delivering The Goods On Rockwave Festival
Technical prog deathsters KINETIC delivered the goods on Rockwave Festival. Opening the second day of the festival the band performed for more than half an hour a mix of old and new material. With tunes like “Neverending Winter” and “Venturing High And Low” setting the mood for the next bands. This was a huge step ahead for the band that currently putting its finishing touches upon their second long anticipated CD “Corrosion”.

KATAGORY V: Hymns Revealed…
We know that you can’t wait for the music. Well at least get a glimpse of the artwork!
Bassist and founder Dustin Mitchell had this to say concerning the completion of the album and the artwork.
“The new album is complete and the final mix has been sent off to the record labels, so now it is in their hands, and we all get to wait just a few more months for the final product. At this point everyone in the band is happy with the end results, and with hearing the final mixes, in my opinion, it’s going to be fairly colourful in musical styles, and maybe even a bit more retro-metal sounding compared to the previous album.
“We once again ran into a few bumps toward the end, and basically slid into home base with our deadlines. Once again that black cloud was looming over our band, and we had another computer in the studio freeze up and die, a different one, but the most crucial one needed, and it happened at the tail end of mixing. It was touch and go for a while; fortunately we were able to resurrect it after a few days of trial and error, just in time to get the album done. And the problem? Dust and dirt, that’s it! Once we did everything possible externally and were ready to give up and take it to a technician to retrieve the songs off the hard drive, we then blew the computer out with compressed air, which exploded out of that thing like a car spinning out on a gravel road. We gave it one more shot, booted it up, and the damn thing buzzed and hummed back to life. I’m not the most tech-oriented guy on the block, but I guess you have to give those things a bath sometimes? How quaint. It’s a good thing we got it working, or the end results of getting the album done on time, or even at all, would have been extreme. In cases like this, it makes me miss the days of analog and reel-to-reel recording!
“So, to commemorate the completion of the album, we have decided to release the cover art for ‘Hymns of Dissension’ for your viewing pleasure. Mattias Noren did a wonderful job in capturing exactly what we were looking for in both mood and concept, and it most certainly fits the vibe of the album in our opinion. Absolutely fantastic, See for yourself!” |

KINETIC: Delivering the goods to the Greek press…
Last Wednesday representatives from all the important Greek metal related media had the chance to listen the entire brand new album of KINETIC. Though still unmixed and with some missing parts the material impressed the reporters that brainstormed with questions the band after the end of the listening session.

ART OF SIMPLICITY: New Guitarist Announced
Finally we have some good news to announce! After talking and/or rehearsing with almost 15 guitarists, we ultimately found someone who loves our music, and on the also, we also love his musicality, and his playing style!! His name is Theodore Kalantzakos! Although he has never played for any major group, he has made many live performances. He is a student of the rock and flamenco guitarist, musician, writer and tutor Ioannis Anastassakis, and have won the 2nd place at the Volos Electric Guitar Competition. He has also completed the RGT London College of Music, and at the time he prepares for the London College of Music Guitar Teacher Diploma. ZENITH: Runners up in EA Sports’ Burnout Bandslam competition
Zenith has participated EA’s Burnout Bandslam competition. The grand prize of the contest was to have one song featured in the new computer car game ‘Burnout’.
Zenith entered with the song ‘Humanimosity’, which is the opener on the new album ‘Evilution’. More than 6000 bands competed and Zenith ended up receiving runners up prize for being voted best band/song from Denmark.

ART OF SIMPLICITY: Caught In The Storm Of News!
Progressive Athenian masters A.O.S. send us the following news report .. ..
"For the past 2 moths we have been talking with several guitarists in order to replace our former one, Aris. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to co-operate with anyone of them due to various reasons and the situation started to look like a dead-end. Now, though, we are happy to announce that we have worked our way out, as we are talking with two guitarists willing to help us, even on a temporary basis. If everything goes well, we will soon be able to perform live again, so as to promote our album "Caught in this Iless storm".
As far as reviews of our album are concerned, the most popular Greek magazines Metal Hammer and Rock Hard have rated us with 8/10 and we were sixth on the column "Soundcheck" of Rock Hard.
