Ragenheart was formed in 2001 by the founding members John (vocals) and Angel (guitar) . The name of the band is a combination of the phrase “Rage In Heart”. The band is playing pure heavy/power metal but also combining several styles, like dark atmospheric, or even epic songs depending on the band’s mood each particular time. Ragenheart have influences from Dio, Rainbow, Queensryche, Crimson Glory, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Conception, Magnitude9, Judas Priest.
Angel was playing in several local bands with no success because of luck of dedication of the members and no quality vocals. His last attempt before Ragenheart was Rainbow’s Edge featuring George on vocals of “Raging Storm”. John had a demo of classic heavy metal with “Sederial Time” and later they became inactive.
John and Angel spent several years in composing and trying to have a permanent line-up with serious players on the other instruments and also dedicated in music. After several years of changing members the band finally features Nikos (bass), Stavros (keyboards) and Nick Speedy (drums). With this lineup, Ragenheart recorded a 5-song demo/EP entitled “In The Name Of God”.The recording session lasted almost 4 months, plus a month for designing the cd cover and the website. The cd faced great success in Germany (sold almost 600 copies) also Japan, Greece, Belgium. The cd had great reviews from German magazines (HEAVY! 10points) european and greek fanzines and generally from the Greek press (METAL HAMMER and ROCK HARD) . Special emphasis was given in the unique powerful and emotional vocals and the melodic compositions.
Ragenheart after spending several months in order to have a record deal, finally signed with Burning Star Records during the summer of 2007. The band is entering the studio in September to record a full-length album.
