Subliminal Fear was formed in 2001, after heterogeneous experiences in local bands, by Ivano (drums), Alessio (bass) and Carmine (voice). At first they used a session-member on the guitar and played some cover-songs searching for musical points of reference. After the first time, the band mostly seemed party to Death Metal in its melodic connotation, without forgetting speed and aggressive sound. In 2002 Doddo (guitar) was added to the band, first footsteps toward a great inside stability. Then greater efforts followed to propose a more delineated genre, with the production of the first songs of the band, and with cover-songs of bands as In Flames and At the Gates.
Subsequently the band has the first live experiences that gave positive responses.
In 2004 Enzo (guitar) was added to complete the actual band; the songs were modified using two guitars, new songs show new influences was produced.
The band, finding concrete stability, made the first Demo in November 2004, recorded in the Nicola Lonigro’s Half Moon Studios (Bari).
Subliminal Fear plays melodic death metal with clear influences from bands who founded the Gothenburg sound, but with particular attention to thrash metal elements of the great American bands from the Bay Area, but also modern elements of European bands.
They search for continuous experimentation to attain a personal sound, sometimes reflective and very aggressive, in line with the lyrics. The lyrics are based primarily on the existential fears and on the subconscious effects, that derive from them.
First Demo will receive a good response with good reviews and a good feedback from Italian and international webzine and magazine. At the end of 2005, Ivano (drums) decides to leave friendly, so the band begins the search of a new drummer.
Now, the band is assembled in song writing mode, with songs more “in your face” but at the same time also more melodic than the last realizations, for our debut album, scheduled for next year. In February of 2006 Marco becomes new drummer, he had collaborated with the band as session in past years.
