It took 15 years, but the creators behind the sequel to Disney’s 2007 hit Delighted finally let Patrick Dempsey sing.
The star of romantic comedies whose Sweet Home Alabama and medical drama Grey’s Anatomy exclusively told Today, it felt like no time had passed when he was back on set with Amy Adams, Idina Menzel and James Marsden for Disillusioned.

“James has great energy and a great sense of humor and so does Amy – It was fun when we could relax and not worry about COVID-19 and take the mask off and play.”
While Menzel is known for her vocal talents on Broadway and as the voice of Elsa in Frozenquestions have been raised about why she and Dempsey didn’t sing numbers in the first Delighted film.
But the two get to sing in the sequel and Dempsey said he had a blast behind the mic.
“I really want to be a recording artist now,” he said.
Disillusioned will be available to stream on Disney Plus starting tomorrow.
